Pastor David Gray was born again in a jail cell in Dyersburg, TN in 1980. At that time, he attended Mid-America Teen Challenge in Cape Girardeau, MO where he overcame drugs and alcohol through the Lord Jesus Christ. In 1982, he attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, OK. In 1983, he returned to his hometown and began to help in the church. In 1986, he became pastor and married Tammy Chessor. Together they have pursued pastoring and ministering in the same local church since that time. Pastor David was ordained through Rhema Ministerial Association International in 1990 and in 2004 began to serve as a Rhema Alumni Team Leader for West TN. In 2006, he began serving as RMAI District Director for West TN. In April of 2015, he was appointed RMAI Regional Director: Mid-South Region. Tammy has been used to help develop children's ministry from nursery to college age. Growing up as a pastor's daughter, she saw the need for the pastor's wife to be actively involved in the ministry. Their daughter Anna went to heaven in September of 2017 and they have a son-in-law, Josh Nolen. They live in Ridgely, TN.
